There's something timeless about a backyard wedding — the way it blends the comfort of home with the magic of a love story.
This particular celebration was more than just a union of two souls; it was a day of healing, connection, and heartfelt beauty, wrapped in the soft embrace of sage and cream tones. The subtle décor, highlighted by off-white roses and daisies, was a nod to the bride, as Daisy and Edwin's closest friends and families gathered to witness their story — their new beginning as a family of five.
The setting was elegant yet simple, and the bride's closest friends hosted the event in the unique backyard of their SoCal home, where a charming 3-story treehouse stood in the backdrop to one side, and a newly constructed chicken coop housed their many egg-laying (and cooperative) feathered friends. It was rustic and beautiful, and one of a kind.
No wedding party necessary — except for one sweet little flower girl and the couple's three daughters to precede Daisy's walk down the aisle, to the surreal joy on the groom's face. Her walk was graced with a solo violin accompaniment, who also provided beautiful background music for the guests until the bride was ready to make that memorable walk.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed appetizers and catching up with each other. And then came time to make their entrance to the reception area, and the party began!
Thankfully the weather was perfect on this early May afternoon, and I'm so happy for my new friends and the life they're now building together. I'm also grateful the chickens remained polite during the vows.
